Firearms held by Police?

Are there any specific weapons we're supposed to be equipped with? The SOCOM and Glock seem a bit too powerful when used against unarmed criminals. I normally carry around two Beretta92's or just a single Beretta and a Benelli.

There is no standard though a shotgun should only be used when dealing with cases which require extreme aggression (usually SWAT should deal foremost with these though). While PD I usually keep a Glock-20c or a Beretta.

I don't think they should EVER have a "restricted" weapon.

Glock 18 on single shot would work, 5-7 (weak, and accurate), and, like seph said, a shotgun for worst case, but you shouldn't be carrying it around with you.


Also, I'd only take one gun at a time, so you can still run fast and such.

+1 SWAT and Pd get different guns. You have to be able to run around though. Its pointless for a cop to carry more then one gun unless its needed, like a bank robbery or a take over ect.

And where have you been?

this is a little idea but can be usefull during PD overtaken:
Give a gun in the item inventory but not a temporary item, he can create the gun every time he want and this will be his primary weapon. Useful when the PD is overtaken and don't have access to the armory.

Depends I know in NYC you have choices

they always have choices, those are just the typical choices for that area
