After the fall of the wall in the 90s, illegal narcotics and weapons were smuggled into many developed countries such as the USA. Platinum Inc. made it's money selling extremely rare and useful items.
It was originally founded by Adam J. Cooper, an American businessman who mainly traded with terrorists. At this time, anarchists, communists and fundamentalists all fought with the US government. Peaceful protesters were out-shadowed by groups such as Baader-Meinhof. There was a ton of money to be made in the business. Many groups came and went, but Platinum Inc. lasted.

Eventually, in 1996, Adam Cooper was arrested and the business was passed down to his son, James Cooper. He is the leader to this day.

The group hasn't changed much. They don't really care who they deal with, as long as they pay well. The group refrains from taking any part in violent crimes, were just salesmen.
